WOW, so you have a new addition to the family, congratulations I’m so happy for you. Welcoming a new child into the world is the greatest gift you’ll ever receive and I’m here to support and help make your child’s Naming Day a unique, personal and memorable celebration.
An alternative to a religious christening, a naming ceremony is an opportunity for you to officially ‘name’ or ‘welcome’ your little one into your family. It’s your chance to declare in front of family and friends you promise to be a good parent. It’s a celebration where as parents, you pledge your love, support and commitment to your little ones future development. There is no age limit on a Naming Ceremony so combining this with a birthday celebration is a popular option.
When welcoming an adoptive child or embracing step children into the family I can create unique ceremonies to welcome your new child or children to celebrate the union and acknowledge the gift of love. It’s a place to share hopes and dreams for the future, it’s a chance for new memories to be made together.
We can work together to create the ideal ceremony for your new addition. We will spend time together exploring what is important and meaningful to you. We’ll talk about your hopes and dreams for your little one and explore the significance of their name and why you chose it
Together we can discuss promises you’d like to make to your little one. You will have the option to include readings, poems and music that you may like. You may also choose to include symbolic rituals such as sand ceremonies, candle lighting or hand or foot printing, creating a time capsule or memory box which adds colour and fun to your ceremony.
Family or close friends can be assigned as guide parents who will pledge their promises and commitments to be there for your child throughout his or her life. Grandparents or older siblings can also make their own promises, which adds meaning and makes it more personal.
Your ceremony can take place absolutely anywhere, indoors or outdoors – it’s your ceremony and I’ll be there.
From initial consultation my support will include writing a truly personalised ceremony, which will be delivered on the day with love, laughter and fun. I’ll oversee the smooth running of your ceremony on the day. You will receive a beautifully presented copy of your Naming Day ceremony and a naming certificate leaving you with keepsakes to treasure for life.
